Here it is friends: the new adventure we've been dreaming and saving for since we first met 8 years ago. We've always envisioned moving into the woods by the lake and building our dream tiny cabin as a home base for us to come back to in between our international travels. We cannot wait to have a place to call our own!! Sharing our first days of life up at our cabin in the woods π²
Looking forward to all of the home renovations and cabin improvements we'll be tackling this winter!

How Did We Get Here?
Abandoning our Van in Africa bit.ly/2Kff0HT
After an incredible 3 years of living, working, and traveling in our self converted Sprinter Van we made the very tough decision to abandon it in Africa to take a rescue flight back to Canada. As it has for all of us this global pandemic has flipped our world upside down. When our Prime Minister announced that he was sending repatriation flights over to Africa to pick up Canadians who were stuck (due to border closures) we consulted with friends and family closest to us and realized that in this time of crisis we should be back in our home country. Halting our dream of driving around the world was a hard pill to swallow which is why we knew we needed a big project to keep our mind + body busy while social distancing back here in Toronto. Enter building an off-grid tiny house on wheels!! But after nearly 6 months, we realized that our dreams of continuing van life across North America in our new van build were not a current reality with the state of the world. So, we've found ourselves pursuing something we've dreamed of since we first got together 8 years ago... a cabin in the woods π
Tour the renovations we've done to our self converted sprinter van:

Our goal here is to inspire you to chase after your own dreams however big (or small... tiny homes anyone?) they may be! We hope to create a community of like-minded, positive individuals who will grow to love and support one another on their own journeys.
Iβm hoping yβall will turn this into an air bnb once we all can travel again
OMG π³ You have bought my dream house in the woods! I think when you get settled you could use a couple cats to help you with your mice problem and maybe a chicken coop for eggs and an green house for vegetables? How about a nice swing and hammocks outdoors too? Maybe a lookout platform in a tree? Great job! Can't wait to see the progress π
so i am watching back and omg the transformation is incredible!
So happy I found these videos. I found your videos on fb and was interested in how you have done in the pandemic. Love the bigger van. Keep on keeping on.
Would LOVE to come visit you in your adorable cabin. Congrats on teh whole thing.
HELLS YEA I wanna come stay in the woods!! πππ
Also I would loooove to come and help clean up, but the UK is a bit far away π°
A cabin in the words on a lake is literally The Dream. I wonder if something like this is possible in the UK? π βone dayβ is my mantra, oh no...
Very disappointing that you canβt even order coffee from the company youβre promoting if you live in Canada.
you should build bike trails on the land
where is that land..I would love to buy around there
air bnb power lol
Inviting "us' could end in a horror movie cabin in the woods. Not sure I would!!!!!
There going to get 1m in no time i love you both so much :3πππππ
Cracks me up every time a USworldsr lights a fire with the auto-fire clicker thingy.. over a real match and patience. Best learn how to start a fire minus modern implements, just to be safe. Enjoying your videos. Both of your sense of humors are quite fun. Lovely cabin.
Eamon ...can we get an Amazon link to your big tool kit?
Imasing how you work and laught togheter. Thy xou for the video. Oven is mostly placed in the middel of a house or room. So it heats all rooms up. Probebly think about good new isolatet windows. Save a lot of money and time with the heat. As bigger the windows as more heat you lose. Same with high seelings. Greetings from switzerland
How did you guys manage to get all the bank stuff sorted and have immediate access to the land. Where I leave a property takes 6 months. Good luck π
why are they moving ?
I love it!!
Welcome to the area
π from the Netherlands π³π±
if Im in Canada I come to help you guys from all my heart I really do like u keep upπͺπͺ
I love you guys will done
This makes me so happy and so excited!!!!! You guys should totally get a garden going and live off the land!
Bro this reno is goona look sick π―stay safe
So they did not mention which option cabin they chose?
I would think the fireplace would be best between the living room and dining , just my opinion but it might be hard to heat rest of the home in the corner
Going through so much right now so Iβve decided to binge watch Emon and beck it works peeps
i wish i can do that someday ,i am from Algeria π©πΏπ©πΏ
Such an inspiring video! My partner and I have also decided to buy a cabin in the woods and have spent the summer renovating it. It has been so much fun and we have really enjoyed the never ending projects that came with it. Check out our channel to watch more! :)
I wanna come stayπ€π€π€
Is this an ab&b rental or do they own it?
Such an amazing project! I stumbled upon your channel because I was interested in van renovations and then was thrilled to find this series. My partner and I actually live in Kingston and dream about doing exactly this. So excited to follow your journey and maybe see you around town, or at a neighbouring cottage down the road, you never know!
We are so down to come out and help you clear up the property in the spring....we are in Stoney Creek, but family out your way.
I wonder how much they pay for the cabin?
Fantastic job. Well done
I love cabins we called country living. I moved to the city because of my health and been 67.
fake you tube. life trumped up to SELL the tell. BOring. sorry.sounds mean, but YounTube has lost its soul. Right on cue.
Your a girl like me, take on a building that needs lots doing to it, the floors are dirty outside is wet and dirty, then you walk into the lounge area with pink slippers on, go girl
THIS IS MY DREAM HOME, WOAH THIS IS SO COOL
)6i
This the 2nd video I've seen of yours, interesting. Will try and see your other posted videos.
Iβm only coming if Bobs gonna be there !!
I love Bob!
"i live in the bush now" haha bec, you're so cute xx
ππππππππππππ€π€
Roughly .... ball park figure .... how much was just the purchase of the property ?
Wanted to suggest getting a set of FMRS or GMRS radios so that you can talk without a phone. Good thing to have for safety when out in the woods and they should have plenty of range.
is that " BOB LOBLAWS" ?
i love this, this is goals
This guy smokes some serious hippie lettuce π
Nice
But where are you 2 gonna set up the Gorilla grow tent & spiderfarm lights?
Your not crazy, just adventurous
Can you do an update on the financials. What the cabin cost and how much itβs costing to renovate please Love your honesty in all of your videos! Btw Where do men like Eamon come from? because most of the men these days can barely change a lightbulb lol
May I ask what was the asking price of the cabin I the woods & what was your offer... ? Great to find you guys... congratulations on your new home...
You both have done a fantastic job! Good for!
Do A TOUR PLSSSS
just watched your insulation going in .. thought i would see where it started .. October ... hmm ... you is going to LOVE spring ... and pancakes ... you are in the maple syrup capital of the world ... and probably have some sugar maple on your property too ... yup harvestable home made syrup ...advanced warning ... be ready for the weight gain ;) be carefull with the fish though check to see if you are on one of the lakes with a lot of man made junk in it ... a good number of them do have some higher levels and you have to be careful what you catch and eat and how much and often too . look up the ministry of natural resources so you get an idea of what you can and cant do around your area... also what you can and cant use for camping shelters .... polyvinyl tarps (plastic tarps) are a major no no and can cost you all of the camping gear in a second ... also when you can and cannot have a fire and what the exceptions are during a fire ban ... (eating) . MNR is the federal controlling body and they set the laws the counties must follow before they add on their own stuff as well ... also 10m in from all federal controlled waterways is always federal land under federal jurisdiction ONLY most of lanarks water is federally controlled
i need to know what kind of truck that isπ₯Ί
the interior designer in me was scared that wall was load bearing π i needed them to tell me it wasnβt lol
I am just glad that 'good bye wall' was not followed by 'is the roof supposed to cave in like that' or 'ooooppppssss' LOL
I would love to help you come and clean up and do whatever you needed to pay for my room and board
usworlds.info/slow/video/hGWoiKLRqnKgiGo .
Im gonna miss van life videos :(
I am so jealous of your guy's space. love what you both have planned!!
Yay! You are living my dream! Love your ideas! I live in Hawawaii the Big g island up country at 4500 ft.. so now I am getting the need to move back to a the mainland .. either Washington or Oregon.. to buy my fixer upper ! You are really inspired me now!! ππππΊ
Why didnβt you put in shutoff valve in it! The bathroom under the sink and or the washer setup?
that's so beautiful being next to the lake in such autumnal surroundings, it sounds like actual heaven being in such a colourful forest - even if it's just a few weeks of autumn β₯ only just found you guys on yt and already a sub, loving house building content atm!
Just happened upon your site the other day. Sorry never checked out your van stories. I am finding this journey with you quite enjoyable. Both of you are delightful as well as Bob and I admire how hard working you are. And your upbeat spirits make it a joy to tag along for the ride. Here in my comfy little house in Montana where winter has just begun to introduce herself again I will enjoy cheering you on and sharing your endeavors. My prayers are with you as you build your new lifeπ»
So glad Bec's feeling better :) and you guys are doing an outstanding job with the reno!
hi guys. since ur using the foreplace for heat. what energy do u guys use to have hot water and use stove? Solar, Propane?
I wonder where the Lee is and I wonder what the relationship exactly
This so reminds me of my favourite uncle who unfortunately just passed away a year agoβs cottage. I would live there no electricity no plumbing in a heartbeat! I love living in Ontario Canada! Seriously the potential there is everywhere you look. Iβm so happy you guys have found such a beautiful place to call home! I canβt wait to do this as well!
I would love to do this so much π. Any advice? Iβm a full time assistant manager at Tim Hortons and I need a change ...
Sandra Westley I absolutely agree Donβt move the stove, you only run the stove whenβs itβs cold, and by then it will be dark so no views, itβs where it is to centrally positioned to heat all the rooms, you want to sit round a lovely log fire in the winter, so who wants to huddle in a corner.
GUYS. Promote your tea more! Ive been watching for a year and didnt even know.
Bec is gonna be a great mom!
I'm so invested in this reno, omg!
Congrats!!!
I know I'm watching this on the 15th which isn't your birthday, nor the day this video came out, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY STILL!!! You're a wonderful and beautiful person and I get so much inspiration and good vibes from you (both!)
I remember living in a cabin in the woods and the mice were π CRAZY! We put out a bunch of traps and caught 18 in one day! They definitely will find a way in. Steel wool in cracks help to keep them out. Just a little hint for country living!
Beautiful cabin and location. I think you guys made a great choice!
Take it one project at a time. We took over a family cottage 20+ years ago. We've done a foundation, bathroom, roof (twice), windows, plumbing, insulated vinyl siding, and now tackling electrical. The most recent addition was replacing an vintage 70s fireplace with an Osburn Woodstove.
BOB IS SOOOO CUTE!!!
omg pls invite me im so isolated and sad i hate it here
Bob is my fav!
I love this and was so excited to find this channel! So happy to find someone from Ontario!
β€β€β€ *JUST A WONDERFUL LIFE!!!* I WOULD LOVE living there!!! π³π²π²ππ²π³π² *ENJOY!!!!!!!*
I'll give you a hint for easy fire starting it's bbq starter liquid
Bob knows itβs a cottage, not a cabin.
Guys crack me up....... women can do a dozen jobs a day and feel accomplished...... when a guy finishes ONE job..... he calls the wife to βsee what he didβ! ππ
Why the fck are you calling your dad by name??so disrespectful
Wow, so happy for you guys. The cabin looks really nice and must feel super spacious after the van! Great Project ππ½
Speaking of demo boots does anyone know what brand they are?
Oh, I see your bed is facing the lake. If you put a fixed window on the shared wall with the living room would you be able to lay in bed and see the lake?
Congratulations on your new home. My suggestion to you would be live in it a while before making the "big" changes, and before you make a grand kitchen I would suggest my favorite kitchen is at our cabin it is small, some would call it an efficiency kitchen about nine foot by under eleven foot. Here is a link to a cool old film the talks about "a step saving kitchen" It was fun to watch and gave me some ideas for our cabin kitchen.usworlds.info/slow/video/Zp9lgKi9f5WiaGo Good luck with finishing it out.
Just chilled out and really enjoyed watching that. Keep them coming
I love it it will be beautiful when you're done and it will be so much fun watching you guys do it I love you guys stay safe.
